The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is the parliamentary arm of the Council of Europe, composed of national parliamentarians from the organisation's member states. It serves as a forum for interparliamentary dialogue on human rights, rule of law and democratic standards, and can recommend actions to the Committee of Ministers. Its seat is in Strasbourg.

Ukraine's Prosecutor General dismissed after fleeing abroad and announcing suspicion against NABU chief
The Verkhovna Rada voted 317 to dismiss Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on September 15, 2026, two days after he announced criminal suspicions against NABU director Semen Kryvonos and a person close to the head of SAP, then left Ukraine overnight on an official trip framed as attendance at PACE hearings. President Zelensky had suspended him the previous evening. The dismissal comes amid the NABU/SAP "Carthage" operation that exposed a corruption scheme inside the Office of the Prosecutor General, and makes Kravchenko the fourth prosecutor general under Zelensky to leave the country after leaving office.
