Russia strikes Kyiv data centers in massive drone attack, cutting internet for 100,000
On 23 September, Russia struck multiple data centers in Kyiv and the Kyiv region during a large-scale drone attack on Ukraine, disrupting internet services for roughly 100,000 subscribers. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russia was deliberately targeting civilian communications infrastructure used for air-raid alerts and called for stronger sanctions and more missile interceptors. The broader attack also hit the Darnytsia pharmaceutical plant, railway facilities, gas stations, and a college building, killing two people and injuring dozens.
