Ukraine offered Oleshky ceasefire for evacuation; Russia refused, officials say
Ukraine proposed a temporary local ceasefire and land corridor in Russian-occupied Oleshky in Kherson Oblast to evacuate civilians, but Russia rejected the offer. Ukrainian officials, including Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, said the remaining roughly 6,000 civilians — including about 200 children — have been without food deliveries since late May and that some are dying of starvation after being forced to eat grass and weeds.
