Ukraine's Prosecutor General Kravchenko resigns after NABU operation exposes alleged call-centre protection scheme
Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko tendered his resignation on the evening of September 7, 2026, days after anti-corruption investigators searched his office and detained a senior official in his agency. The NABU and SAPO operation, codenamed "Carthage," targeted an alleged scheme in which Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG) officials took money to protect fraudulent call centres. Kravchenko denied involvement and called the resignation a "political decision" to keep the office from being used as a tool of confrontation.
