Novaya Gazeta
Novaya Gazeta is an independent Russian newspaper founded in 1993 and based in Moscow. Its co-founder and longtime editor-in-chief, Dmitry Muratov, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 for the paper's journalism on human rights and corruption; after his death in 2023, the publication has continued under its editorial team. The newspaper is known for investigative reporting on Russian state power, corruption, and the wars in Chechnya and elsewhere. Following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the paper suspended work inside Russia but continues publishing from abroad.
