Ukraine, US and European representatives hold talks in Oslo on peace framework
On 20 October, representatives of Ukraine, the United States and several European countries met in Oslo to work on a possible framework for ending the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took part alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finnish President Alexander Stubb. US special envoy Steve Witkoff attended in person, while his colleague Jared Kushner, who is ill, joined by video link. The talks were aimed at developing a peace proposal that could later be presented to Russia, with Witkoff planning to travel to Moscow after Oslo for a meeting with Vladimir Putin.
