Nornickel
Nornickel, formally Nornickel (Norilsk Nickel), is a Russian mining and metallurgy company and one of the world's largest producers of nickel and palladium. Its principal mining and processing operations are in the Norilsk area of the Russian Arctic. It is controlled by structures linked to the oligarch Vladimir Potanin.

EU drops Usmanov and Fridman from sanctions list; Ukraine proposes adding Lisin and Potanin
On 22 September, the EU Council extended Ukraine-related restrictive measures against nearly 3,000 persons for an unprecedented 36 months, but the package also removed Russian oligarchs Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman from the list. Ukraine called the move shameful and unjustified and said it would propose adding two other Russian billionaires — Vladimir Lisin (NLMK) and Vladimir Potanin (Nornickel) — to the next sanctions round. Latvia announced national sanctions against Usmanov and Fridman after lifting its veto on their EU delisting.
