Nord Stream
Nord Stream is a network of natural gas pipelines running from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea. The first string of Nord Stream began operating in 2011, followed by the second in 2012. The project was developed by Nord Stream AG, a company majority-owned by Russia's Gazprom with participation from European energy firms. In September 2022, both pipelines sustained extensive damage from explosions, triggering an international investigation.
