NATO Nuclear Planning Group
The NATO Nuclear Planning Group (NPG) is the senior body within the Alliance responsible for nuclear policy and the sharing of nuclear weapons among NATO member states that participate in joint nuclear missions. All NATO members take part except France, which withdrew from the integrated military structure in 1966. The group is traditionally chaired by the United States Secretary of Defense, reflecting Washington's leading role in the Alliance's nuclear affairs. The NPG is the forum where decisions on the deployment, storage and possible transfer of US tactical nuclear weapons stationed in Europe are made.

Latvian president says Latvia would host nuclear weapons if NATO decides
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs said Latvia would host nuclear weapons on its territory if NATO collectively decides it is necessary. He made the remarks at a press conference after a meeting with Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, in response to the UK's offer of extended nuclear protection to Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) member states. Rinkēvičs noted that no concrete deployment negotiations are currently underway and that Latvian law contains no legal barriers to such a deployment.
