National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine
The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) is a coordinating body under the President of Ukraine that shapes state policy on national security and defense. It is chaired by the President, with a Secretary appointed by the head of state, and its decisions are enacted by presidential decrees. The Council responds to threats to national security, oversees sanctions policy, and coordinates the work of the country's security and defense agencies.

Russian drones struck Kyiv overnight on October 2, hitting the Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge for at least the fourth time in 24 hours around 5:00 a.m. In the Darnytskyi district, a drone hit a 25-storey residential building, killing one person and injuring two. Three major bridges across the Dnipro were closed or restricted, forcing widespread rerouting of bus and trolleybus services.
