National Preserve "Sofia of Kyiv"
The National Preserve "Sofia of Kyiv" is a Ukrainian state institution that manages the architectural and historical complex of Saint Sophia Cathedral in central Kyiv. The preserve oversees the 11th-century cathedral, its bell tower, the metropolitan's residence, monastic buildings and remains of ancient fortifications, along with museum collections and restoration workshops. The site is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is one of the principal centres of Kyivan Rus' architecture and monumental painting in Ukraine.
