Three sea drones sink Liberian-flagged container ship in Bulgaria’s Black Sea zone; all 18 crew rescued
Three maritime drones attacked the Liberian-flagged container ship CONTSHIP JET on 28 October 2026 in Bulgaria’s Black Sea exclusive economic zone, causing three holes on its starboard side and a fire. All 18 crew members — 14 Filipinos and four Ukrainians — were evacuated and rescued without deaths or injuries. The vessel sank during the night of 29 October, while Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey created a trilateral mechanism to strengthen Black Sea shipping safety.
