Russian strikes on Sumy kill one, injure at least two civilians
On the morning of Saturday, October 17, Russian forces struck the Sumy community in north-eastern Ukraine with eight guided aerial bombs (KABs), four of them hitting the regional centre itself. A separate drone, tentatively identified as a "Molniya" type, hit a residential high-rise in the Zarichnyi district around 5:00 a.m. A 42-year-old man was killed in the KAB strike, and at least two civilians were injured. Search-and-rescue and cleanup work was under way at the strike sites.
