Intergovernmental Conference
The Intergovernmental Conference is the formal negotiation forum between a candidate country and the EU member states in the accession process. Its work is structured around clusters covering different areas of EU law and policy. The conference is convened by the Council of the EU and chaired by the representative of the country holding the Council presidency.

EU to review Ukraine's EU accession clusters 2 and 3 on 7 October
The EU Council's working group on enlargement (COELA) is set to review documents on clusters 2 and 3 of Ukraine's EU accession negotiations on Wednesday, 7 October, starting at 11:00 Kyiv time. Hungary is not expected to block the approval, and the ultimate goal is to open the clusters at an Intergovernmental Conference on 13 October.
