International Bank for Reconstruction and Development
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) is one of the five institutions of the World Bank Group. Established in 1944 alongside the International Monetary Fund at the Bretton Woods Conference, it is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The IBRD lends to middle-income and creditworthy low-income governments, and works with the private sector to support development projects in areas such as infrastructure, health, and education.
