The Ministry of Justice is the central executive body of Ukraine responsible for shaping and implementing the state legal policy. Its remit includes protecting citizens' rights and freedoms, drafting legislation, maintaining legal registers, registering civic organisations and political parties, and coordinating the system of free legal aid.
