Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine
The Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is a special intelligence body within the Ukrainian Armed Forces, subordinate to the Ministry of Defence. It is responsible for foreign intelligence, special operations, and military intelligence, including operations in the armed conflict in the east of the country. The directorate is headed by Kyrylo Budanov, appointed in 2020. HUR coordinates various units, including volunteer formations involved in combat operations.
