Lithuanian Air Force

The Lithuanian Air Force is the aerial warfare branch of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, responsible for air defence and military aviation of the country. After Lithuania regained independence in 1990, the air force had to be largely rebuilt, as Soviet-era aviation assets were transferred to Russia. It is subordinate to the Ministry of National Defence and operates within the framework of NATO, participating in the Baltic Air Policing mission and joint exercises with allied air forces.
