Latvian PM urges Europeans to give up one beer a year to help Ukraine through winter
Latvian Prime Minister Andris Kuļbergs told reporters in Brussels on October 15, ahead of an EU summit, that each of the EU's roughly 450 million residents would only need to contribute the cost of one beer per year to help Ukraine survive the coming winter. He framed the appeal as a question of European collective security, called for tightening sanctions on Russia, and urged cuts to Western components reaching Russian missile production.
