Kyiv Regional Military Administration
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration is a body of executive power in Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine, established under martial law. It is headed by a chief appointed by the President of Ukraine and is responsible for coordinating regional defence, civil protection and emergency response, including the aftermath of Russian missile and drone strikes.

Russia launched a large-scale combined missile and drone strike on Ukraine overnight on October 6–7, deploying ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, and more than 130 strike drones. Main strike directions were Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. Ukrainian air defense said it shot down or suppressed 161 aerial targets by 09:00 on October 7. Multiple civilians were killed across several cities, including the destruction of a residential building in Pryluky, Chernihiv Oblast. President Zelensky, who had warned the previous day based on intelligence that Russia was preparing a massive strike, described it as one of the "most vile" and said energy infrastructure was a key target.

Russia struck Ukraine with 205 drones in the night of October 5, including 49 jet-powered variants. Ukrainian air defense shot down or suppressed 172 of them, and the Air Force announced the first successful intercepts of Russian jet-powered drones, including the Geran-5, by AI-guided robotic turrets. In the night of 29–30 September 2026, Russia carried out a large-scale combined missile and drone attack on Ukraine with the main strike direction targeting Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast. Ukrainian air defense reported intercepting 5 ballistic missiles and 155 of 188 launched drones. Two women were killed in Kyiv and a child died in Vyshhorod, where rescuers pulled three survivors from the rubble of a destroyed house. Fires and damage were recorded in four Kyiv districts and across multiple Kyiv Oblast districts, and 8,000 Kyiv households lost power before DTEK restored supply.
