Kyiv City State Administration
The Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) is the executive authority governing Kyiv under martial law, combining the functions of the city council and city state administration. It is headed by a head appointed by the President of Ukraine, who also serves as the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration. The KMVA coordinates the capital's defence, municipal services, civil protection and the repair of infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes.

Russia strikes Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight, killing at least two
Russia launched a massive ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight into 24 September, killing at least two people and injuring at least eight, with debris and damage reported in at least five districts. The strike came hours after Ukraine agreed to a full, immediate ceasefire and after 51 UN member states called on Russia to follow suit. From the United States, President Zelensky said he was meeting US lawmakers on the Lindsey Graham sanctions bill when the strike hit and called on Washington to provide ballistic missile interceptors and impose further sanctions.
