Kyiv City Council

The Kyiv City Council (Kyivrada) is the representative local self-government body of the Ukrainian capital. It is composed of deputies elected by Kyiv residents and serves as the successor to the Soviet-era city council reorganized after Ukraine's independence. The council is chaired by the Mayor of Kyiv, who also heads the Kyiv City State Administration. The Kyivrada decides on matters of municipal economy, land relations, the city budget and communal property.
