NABU says SBU official threatened detectives and blocked court-authorised search
Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau said on 4 November 2026 that a senior Security Service of Ukraine official threatened detectives with a firearm and denied them entry to premises during a court-authorised search. The incident occurred as NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office launched searches at serving law-enforcement officials as part of Operation “Carthage,” targeting alleged bribery networks protecting fraudulent call centres and other illegal businesses.
