The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence is a standing committee of the Ukrainian parliament responsible for legislation in the areas of national security, defense policy, the military-industrial complex, and intelligence and counterintelligence services. It drafts and reviews relevant bills, hears reports from the heads of security and defense agencies, and oversees the financing of defense programmes. Its chair is a member of parliament elected by the Verkhovna Rada on the nomination of the parliamentary factions.
