Russia Launches Covert US Election Influence Campaign
Russia has launched a covert online influence campaign ahead of the November 3 US midterm elections, targeting politicians who support Ukraine across party lines. According to congressional intelligence officials, the effort aims to foster chaos, undermine trust in US institutions and voting machines, and amplify disinformation. US intelligence has found no evidence of attempts to hack election infrastructure or campaign networks.
