Ukraine launches criminal probe after deadly clash at National Guard deployment site
A confrontation erupted on November 2, 2026, near a temporary National Guard deployment point in Petropavlivska Borshahivka, Kyiv Oblast, after online claims of unlawful detention prompted a crowd to gather. Shots were fired, police vehicles and a National Guard bus were damaged, and four service members with injuries were hospitalized. The State Bureau of Investigations opened a case over possible abuse of authority, while several agencies began examining the circumstances and legality of the troops’ stay.
