Kazan Motor Building Production Association
Kazan Motor Building Production Association (KMPO) is one of the largest Russian aircraft engine manufacturers, based in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan. The enterprise produces and overhauls turboprop and turbojet engines for military and civil aviation, including powerplants for the Il-76, An-124, Tu-214 aircraft and various helicopters. Historically it has operated as part of the United Engine Corporation (UEC), itself a subsidiary of the state-owned defence and industrial conglomerate Rostec. KMPO is a strategically important defence plant whose engines power much of Russia's transport and special-purpose aircraft fleet.
