International Press Institute
The International Press Institute (IPI) is a global non-profit organisation dedicated to the defence of press freedom and the protection of journalists' rights. It was founded in 1950 in New York at a conference convened by UNESCO and is now headquartered in Vienna. IPI is a worldwide network of editors, publishers and media executives from more than 100 countries, and it regularly publishes reports documenting press-freedom violations around the world.
