Three Seas Initiative
The Three Seas Initiative is a forum of twelve European Union countries bordering the Adriatic, Baltic, and Black seas. It was launched in 2015 by the presidents of Poland and Croatia to deepen infrastructure, energy, and digital cooperation among the member states. The initiative aims to develop north–south transport corridors, including the Via Carpatia route, and to reduce dependence on Russian energy supplies through diversification. Annual summits rotate among participating countries, and the Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund supports financing of priority projects.
