ICRC
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is a humanitarian organisation founded in 1863 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. It works to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, promotes compliance with international humanitarian law, and visits prisoners of war and other detainees. The ICRC is a founding component of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
