Houthis
The Houthis (officially Ansar Allah) are an armed movement and political organization based in northern Yemen, drawing most of their support from the Zaidi Shia population of the highlands. Founded in the late 1990s, the group fought a series of wars against the Yemeni government and seized the capital Sanaa in 2014–2015, triggering the ongoing civil war. Backed by Iran, the Houthis have since late 2023 launched missile and drone attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and on Israeli territory in response to the war in Gaza.

US warns allies of up to five-year delays in missile and air-defense deliveries after Iran war depleted stockpiles
The United States has told allies, including Ukraine, to expect delays of up to five years in deliveries of key missile systems and air-defense equipment because US forces depleted their own arsenals during a war with Iran. Germany, Eastern European buyers of US weapons and Japan are all affected, and the Pentagon's decision to prioritize rebuilding its own stockpiles is complicating Ukraine's efforts to secure additional Patriot interceptors ahead of a difficult winter.
