House Rules Committee
The House Rules Committee is a standing committee of the United States House of Representatives. It sets the terms under which bills are debated and amended on the House floor, including time limits on debate, which amendments may be considered, and the order of votes. Often called the "traffic cop" or "rules committee" of the House, it plays a central role in determining how legislation advanced by other committees reaches a final floor vote.
