Main Directorate for Mine Action, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety

The Main Directorate of Demining, Civil Protection and Environmental Safety is a structural unit of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine responsible for coordinating demining efforts, civil protection of the population, and environmental safety in the defence sector. It tracks explosive hazards, organizes the clearance of contaminated territories, and informs the public about related threats. Since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the directorate has regularly published statistics on civilians harmed by mines and explosive remnants of war.
