High Council of Justice
The High Council of Justice is a constitutional body of Ukraine responsible for shaping an honest and professional judiciary. Its powers include the appointment, transfer and dismissal of judges, as well as disciplinary proceedings against them. The Council also handles matters of judicial immunity and oversees adherence to ethical standards within the court system.

Russian drone strikes hit residential and office buildings in Kyiv, killing seven and injuring 57
Russian drone strikes hit multiple buildings across Kyiv on Friday, 25 September, including a multi-storey residential building in the Pechersk district and an office building in the Solomiansky district. At least seven people were killed and at least 57 injured, including two children, with casualty figures rising over the course of the day. The Higher Council of Justice building was also damaged.

Ukrainian parliament dismisses Prosecutor General Kravchenko after he announced suspicion against NABU chief and left Ukraine
Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada voted 317-0 to dismiss Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko on 15 September 2026, one day after he announced suspicions against NABU director Semen Kryvonos and a person close to the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), and left the country. President Volodymyr Zelensky had suspended Kravchenko the previous evening. The dismissal comes against the backdrop of the 'Carthage' operation, conducted by NABU and SAP, which has exposed a corruption scheme involving officials of the Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG).
