Ukraine anti-corruption court jails driver of Prosecutor General's Office official in 'Carthage' case
On 7 September, Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) remanded Serhiy Kutsy in custody until 3 November with an alternative bail of 3 million hryvnias. Kutsy is the driver of Serhiy Kropyva, a deputy head in the Office of the Prosecutor General suspected of leading a criminal organization that allegedly "covered" fraudulent call centers and laundered funds. The ruling is the latest step in the NABU/SAP "Carthage" special operation, which has already led to the detention of Kropyva and his cohabitant Yelyzaveta Ivakhnenko, searches at Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko's premises, and disciplinary measures inside the OGP.
