Russia used over 4,000 reactive drones in October as Ukraine faces Patriot missile shortage
Russia carried out large-scale missile and drone strikes against Ukraine in October 2026, using more than 4,000 reactive drones, about 150 ballistic missiles and thousands of other unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukraine says its air defences intercepted a significant share of the targets, but the country faces a shortage of Patriot interceptors, including PAC-3 missiles. The United States has approved a potential sale of 500 PAC-3 MSE missiles for about $2.1 billion, with deliveries expected no earlier than 2030.
