Hague Tribunal
The International Criminal Court (ICC), often referred to in Ukrainian media as the 'Hague Tribunal', is a permanent international court established in 2002 under the Rome Statute of 1998. It is seated in The Hague, Netherlands, and is empowered to prosecute individuals for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression. The court operates independently of the United Nations, although the UN Security Council may refer situations to it. Its governing body is the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute.
