GRU sub-unit 29155
GRU sub-unit 29155 is a unit of Russia's military intelligence service (the GRU) that has been publicly identified by Western governments as responsible for covert sabotage and assassination operations abroad. The unit drew widespread attention in 2018, when the United Kingdom named it in connection with the poisoning of the former double agent Sergei Skripal in Salisbury. European intelligence agencies have linked it to explosions at ammunition depots in the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, cyber operations, and other clandestine activities. It is generally regarded as a specialist sabotage formation operating outside the GRU's routine intelligence lines.

Germany blames Russia for drone attack on Ukrainian plane at Leipzig airport
A drone carrying 1.8 kg of Semtex struck the wing of a parked Ukrainian An-124 cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport on the night of August 5, failing to detonate. A joint Telegraph/Welt investigation identified Russian biker Oleg Levushkin as the likely organizer, with German investigators suspecting Belarusian agent Andrey Karshakov as the executor. Germany officially accused Russia of the attack on September 1 and announced countermeasures, including the closure of Russia's consulate general in Bonn.
