Federal Ministry of the Interior (Germany)
Germany's Federal Ministry of the Interior (Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat) is the federal government's main department for domestic policy, migration, refugees, civil security and oversight of the federal police. It is headed by the Federal Minister of the Interior, who sits in the cabinet. The ministry is based in Berlin. Its portfolio includes coordination of civil protection, federal-level intelligence oversight and integration policy.

Germany blames Russia for drone attack on Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig airport
A drone carrying explosives struck the wing of a Ukrainian Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany on the night of August 5, failing to detonate. A joint investigation by The Telegraph and Welt am Sonntag identified Russian biker Oleg Levushkin as the likely organizer and Belarusian agent Andrey Karshakov as the suspected operative. On September 1, Germany officially accused Russia of orchestrating the attack and closed the Russian consulate general in Bonn.
