German Institute for International and Security Affairs
The German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP, Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik) is a German think tank focused on foreign policy and security research. Founded in 1962, it is based in Berlin and is one of Germany's leading policy institutes. It is primarily funded by the German federal government, notably through the Federal Ministry of Defence and the Federal Foreign Office. SWP produces policy analysis and recommendations for the German government and Bundestag and participates in international research networks.

Russia plans record 17.1 trillion ruble military budget for 2027
Russia's draft budget projects military spending of 17.1 trillion rubles (about $205 billion) for 2027, more than 40% above the figure planned for 2026 and nearly 380% above pre-invasion levels. Officials project only slight decreases in the following two years, abandoning earlier plans to slow spending growth despite a widening budget deficit.
