The Federal Ministry of the Interior (Bundesministerium des Innern und für Heimat) is the interior ministry of the German federal government, headquartered in Berlin. It is responsible for internal security, migration and integration policy, civil protection, and federal administrative reform. The ministry oversees the Federal Police and Germany's intelligence services, and is led by the Federal Minister of the Interior.

Germany blames Russia for drone attack on Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig airport
A drone carrying explosives struck the wing of a Ukrainian Antonov An-124 cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany on the night of August 5, failing to detonate. A joint investigation by The Telegraph and Welt am Sonntag identified Russian biker Oleg Levushkin as the likely organizer and Belarusian agent Andrey Karshakov as the suspected operative. On September 1, Germany officially accused Russia of orchestrating the attack and closed the Russian consulate general in Bonn.
