General Police Inspectorate
The General Police Inspectorate is the border police agency of the Republic of Moldova, operating under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is responsible for protecting the state border, controlling migration, and securing border crossing points, including those on the frontiers with Ukraine and Romania. The Inspectorate conducts operational and investigative work on the border, combating illegal migration and smuggling, and coordinates with the customs and border services of neighbouring states.

Shell near Ukraine–Moldova border crossing hits bus, injures Moldovan officer
A shell fell near the Palanka–Maiaky–Udobne border crossing on the Ukraine–Moldova border on 5 October at around 09:38, ricocheted into a parked bus and injured a Moldovan border police officer. The checkpoint was suspended, Moldovan roads toward Palanka were closed at 10:50, and traffic was redirected to the Tudora crossing. Ukrainian and Moldovan authorities linked the incident to a Russian attack on Ukraine.
