Eight crew missing after tanker fire near Romania's Sulina; second tanker hit in Black Sea
A fire broke out on the tanker Wine Trader, sailing under the flag of San Marino, in Romania's Black Sea territorial waters near the port of Sulina on the morning of 15 October. Of its 12 crew members, four were reported safe and eight are missing, while one Romanian navy account says five were rescued and seven are unaccounted for. The fire came a day after the Comoros-flagged oil tanker YARA J was struck near Sulina on the evening of 14 October, with Romanian authorities reporting drone activity in the area but not officially confirming drones caused either blaze.
