Extended Fund Facility

The Extended Fund Facility (EFF) is a lending arrangement of the International Monetary Fund designed for countries experiencing serious medium-term balance-of-payments problems caused by structural weaknesses. EFF programs typically run for three years and are accompanied by conditions tied to structural reforms and macroeconomic stabilization. Ukraine has been among recent users of the instrument, negotiating a new multi-year program with the IMF.
