European Public Prosecutor's Office
The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) is an independent body of the European Union, established in 2017 to investigate crimes against the EU's financial interests and to bring criminal proceedings against suspects. Headquartered in Luxembourg, it has competence over fraud affecting EU funds, corruption, money laundering and cross-border VAT fraud. It is headed by the European Chief Prosecutor, a position held since 2024 by Laura Codruța Kövesi.
