EU Council on Agriculture and Fisheries
The Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) is a configuration of the Council of the European Union in which ministers from the member states responsible for agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture meet to shape EU policy in these areas. It traces its origins to the 1962 establishment of the Common Agricultural Policy, and the AGRIFISH configuration itself has operated under that name since the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty in 2009. The council adopts the main decisions on the CAP budget, fishing quotas and emergency measures for the farming sector.
