Estonian Police and Border Guard Board
The Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (Politsei- ja Piirivalveamet, PPA) is the country's unified law enforcement agency, combining the national police and the border guard service under one structure. It operates under the Ministry of the Interior and is responsible for border protection, migration control, public order, criminal investigation, and emergency response. The agency is headquartered in Tallinn and is led by a director general. It guards Estonia's land borders with Russia and Latvia, as well as maritime boundaries and international airports.
