Energy Community Secretariat

The Energy Community Secretariat is the executive arm of the Energy Community, an international organisation established by the Energy Community Treaty in 2006 to extend the European Union's energy acquis to Southeast European countries and other participants. It is headquartered in Vienna and is headed by a Director. The Secretariat implements ministerial council decisions and brings enforcement actions before the Energy Community Court when parties fail to meet their treaty obligations.
