European External Action Service

The European External Action Service (EEAS) is the European Union's diplomatic body, responsible for implementing the EU's common foreign and security policy. Established in 2010 under the Treaty of Lisbon, it is headed by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who also serves as a Vice-President of the European Commission. The EEAS is headquartered in Brussels and operates EU delegations around the world.
