Donetsk Oblast Defence Council
The Donetsk Oblast Defence Council is the coordinating body set up under Ukraine's martial law to oversee defence, security and civilian administration in Donetsk Oblast. It is chaired by the head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, who is appointed by the President of Ukraine and is typically also the head of the regional state administration. The body has functioned as a wartime successor to the Donetsk Oblast State Administration and the oblast's military-civil administration that has operated since 2014. Its mandate covers the territory of Donetsk Oblast controlled by Ukraine, where it coordinates evacuation, curfew rules and other measures tied to the ongoing conflict.
